Why is my city so hot?
I live in a city called Stuttgart and share this city with around 630.000 other people.
Most of the city was destroyed during World War II, so there is little left of its former beauty. When you walk around you see many buildings from the 50’s and 60’s – a time where people started to build a new life after the war._89A0799-Bearbeitet

It was a time of simplicity.

You see and feel the practical approach of these buildings. There are not many playful elements and the colours are often variations on grey and yellowish beige. When you google Stuttgart and you have a look at the search results however you will see returning elements of its magnificent castle and the very beautiful and green environment.

Interestingly, Stuttgart is one of the most polluted cities in Germany and has a lot of issues with the tremendous traffic that is passing through the city centre.

So in my work I wanted to show another side of the city, wanting to play with its architecture, shadow and lines and portray it as my own version of a Californian summer dream.

Enjoy.
